My name is Elizabeth — and before Maitu by Liz became a brand, it was first my personal truth.

For years, my period was a quiet struggle I carried alone.

Synthetic pads and tampons left my body irritated, uncomfortable, and inflamed. The rashes. The itching. The burning. The constant unease. The fear of leaks. The question I never dared ask out loud:

I endured it because I thought I had no alternative. Until my body demanded better.

That moment marked the beginning of my search—not for a business idea, but for relief, dignity, and honesty with my own body. When I discovered organic menstrual care, the change was immediate. My body felt calm. Safe. Heard.

That was my awakening.
